Fifty Thousand Lumberjacks variant (unknown songwriter, 1917)
This variant of the song related to the great northwest lumberjack strike of 1917 was collected by Harold Barto in the northern Idaho timber camps in 1917. The lively rendition here by Shayne Watkins of Deary and Greg Hodapp of Moscow appeared on the CD/booklet The Way We Worked in Idaho issued in September, 2011 by the Idaho Songs Project.

This fun ditty appeared in the book Rock Burst by Bert and Marie Russell (1998). Mrs. Hibgee wrote the song and played it on the piano, poking fun at an argument between her husband farmer Otto Hussa who mistakenly thought that Mr. Higbee's logs had jammed his bridge near Cataldo. The rendition here is by Jeannie Eddins and Charley Simmons of Boise. The song appeared on the CD/booklet The Way We Worked in Idaho issued in September, 2011 by the Idaho Songs Project.
